Trick machine, burb not getting correct response

When adding to the domain /index.php?page=…/./…/./…/./…/./…/./etc/passwd in the browser
it should display the passwd file in burb but it does not show, as well as that the browser page
appears as a blank white page.

Any help would be appreciated
