It’s hard to attempt to break into the box when the service running on that server stops responding. I’ve initiated several resets and within a few minutes of it coming back up and responding it stops working again.
I don’t want to include any spoilers, but I do know it’s possible to DoS the service, and I’m pretty sure someone is doing it to grief other users.
Also, I’ve used up my daily reset quota, so now I have to wait for others to request resets. This has been the most infuriating system I’ve tried to gain access to, and it’s not because of how complex it is.
Well, this is embarrassing. I finally got into the box. It wasn’t being DoS’d, I was locking myself out by how I was attacking it.
Also, the root exploit wasn’t what I thought it was going to be.
I’ll go sit in the corner now.
