is DMxt supposed to be blank? got the user.txt and found out how to decrypt an .exe, not sure what to do with that or what to try next. will check the rest of the thread though.

Pretty interesting and fun challenge, refreshed some older concepts and worked with some technologies I never thought I would require !!!

User seemed really easy and straight to the point. By far the fastest user I’ve ever gotten. Now time to put the pieces together for root!
Finally managed to get root using only Linux.
You don’t need a full fledged d****t environment to own this machine. You just need to isolate that interesting part of code and run it using an online service.
For root, I used a tool I found on GitHub that works both on Windows and Linux. Spent most of the time building it, though. Microsoft offers many of their tools packaged for Linux these days, which is great!

First off, you may be attacking something you aren’t ready to attack.
Secondly, it reads like you are running DB queries on things which aren’t stored queries so they wont run. If only there was a way to read them and find out what they were.
Finished it, learned a lot.
It is possible to solve this without VS and/or Windows. I used https://dotnetfiddle.net/ and AvaloniaILSpy following a recommendation. If you need a nudge, just pm me.
Got root! It wasn’t as easy as the rankings make you believe but enumeration is the key in this one and some basic programming skills. If you need help let me know

Yea, it sounds like it didnt come back right, make sure you use -A to check all ports.
