Cannot Scan with different vulnerability scanners

Hello guys,

I am trying to use different vulnerability scanners to scan a box. (It’s for my dissertation) But when I use nikto, grabber or vega I can’t scan the server. I get errors like “the server is not active” or “the server does not exist” .

I can do a nmap scan usign the -Pn command but thats it.
Anybody knows if there is anything I can do?

Right I found the issue. Had to kill the vpn every time.

That’s an interesting solution. Do you have to kill the VPN after every scan or do you need to restart it every time?

I’ve never found any problem running Nikto or nmap scripts over the VPN, but it does depend on what ports and services are listening.
