New VIP layout..?

Just seen that if you go to “Machines” and click Active to see the list of active labs, theres a new layout. Personally I dont really like this since I really liked the idea of being able to sort the difficulty of machines so I’m not looking all over the list for a certain box. Also I’ve seen that there isn’t any difficulty bars at first glance and the spawning a machine thing I dont really understand yet since I havent given it a try.

Whats everyone else’s opinion on this new layout? There was nothing wrong IMO for the old layout. VIP boxes and Active boxes were separated into their own sections - easy to use and to look at.

Confusing layout to say the least. I prefer to submit user.txt and root.txt separately and I like the fact machines which I’ve completed are shown on the old Active machines board. Now, you can’t even see when was the last reset for a machine. This is important information for non-VIP users because I wouldn’t want to waste precious resets when the machine was recently reset.

Please include an option to use the old layout. Perhaps then you can collect data on user’s actual preference.

Anyway, I’m on Free—I guess beggars can’t be choosers.

Just checked that… Well, I like the sort menu. To me it’s much better like this. Thou too much text at the top

I agree with @limbernie. Just a color strip for difficulty rate, dim highlight for flag owning, is it 4real??

  1. Let us submit flags separately.
  2. If possible provide an old UI option.
  3. When I play with the option bars, sometimes they work incorrectly. check the scrolling func.

I’m sure we’ll get used to the new layout; however:

  • Any chance we could get a more obvious indication for owned machines (maybe colour the flag submission button again red or blue dependent on status)?
  • Not having all active boxes spawned means that working on more than a single box at a time is harder (sometimes useful if you want to enumerate more than one, discuss, test or simply help).

You can please all of the people…

This.

I’m big on jumping back and forth between boxes when I get stumped or just want a change of pace. This makes it much more of a hassle to do that, not to mention you have to do a decent amount of “moving around” to get one box down, the other up, return to Kali to get things situated there again, etc.

I haven’t had much time to mess around with the new layout or spawn any machines yet, but I think the idea of sorting difficulty hard to easy and vice versa was really nice, and the fact of the difficulty bar graph - loved that

They should allow me to pick what columns I want to show and hide.

So far I like it! Submitting flags in one bit doesn’t bother me at all, and I like that you can filter out boxes that are completed as well as one that are currently too difficult.

I like it too, nice to filter and focus on what you need. Especially now that the number of machines is ever growing. I miss the difficulty graph though. It always helped me (i’m a newbie really) what others thought of the box besides the official rating from HTB.
