I have uploaded the shell, gained low level access, grabbed the password for ssh, logged in, and now have no clue what to do.
I think it has something to do with a BOF, but I have almost no knowledge of that type of attack.

I’d recommend working on some other boxes for now, while reading up on the subject. This one will make you want to kill yourself.
