I hope this message finds you well. I have subscribed to the VIP membership of HTB. I am having trouble doing HTB boxes recently where after I try running nmap or directory traversal tools the box becomes unresponsive. Due to which I have to break the VPN connection and start the connection again.

This is unusual and it may be something you need to raise with HTB support.
Without more information, however, it is difficult for other people to do a remote diagnosis.
- does this happen on every box? Some (but not many to be fair) have rate limiting and brute-force defences in place, so running intensive scans can cause it to seem to lock up.
- what are you running as a scan? when it becomes unresponsive, what changes at your end?
