Hi all! I was able to find some interesting text files and extract a single name from one of them. I am trying to determine how to crack a related encrypted file. I can’t think of a way to do this given the text files. Looking for a nudge in the form of a thing that I should research or a way to try harder. :slight_smile:

I’ve made a little bit of progress with this machine. But I’m kind stuck at the moment. Could someone point me a way, or to a smashing tool to use with a file that’s on that machine. You’d be an absolute star…

Dear all, I am too with Shrek. I’m researching apache, I’ve seen directories interestings and I have to look at more. Dirb, Dirbuster or Burp can help me?

Don’t try to find a text file, it’s a hint for something that comes later. Just enumerate, look at the directories, look what’s in them, read everything. If you’re stick stuck, repeat.

Now, can anyone give me a hint for privesc? I can jump in as certain someone else but don’t see a way forward… Nothing seems to jump out as either the original user or this other user… I’m seriously stumped here.

I threw everything PyCrypto has to offer at the key… still nothing. I must be overthinking it?

I am stuck here ,too. I got 31 .txt files and 1 key file. Can’t figure out if the text files are just for distraction or if they are helpful to crack the key?

Hi all! I was able to get the text files and key file. I was able to get a name and some text that seems encoded, but I am unable to use this information to advance. Could you please give me a nudge on what to read or where to look for information on what I have to do next. Thank you :slight_smile:

Hi guys, A little bit in the same situation as the people above, I found text files and a key, found two bits of information in the files (one making sense and the other less), I’ve tried many things but I’m completely stuck with this, any help greatly appreciated :slight_smile:
