From time to time I require to use image capture software. I usually works with Windows and I use Snagit which allows to select a region of the screen. I wonder if exists similar software on Linux. It is ok for walkthroughs and for current machine I worked.

Flamshot works well for screenshots. OBS is what I tend to use for video.
I usually use ShareX on Windows, which offers fast and convenient options for capturing a specific regions for screen recording. Iām not sure about Linux options, but ShareX usually suffices for me because I run most of my Linux instances through VMs on Windows anyway (which means ShareX can still overlay them as they typically sit within VirtualBox/VMware windows).
