There is a clue in the backuppasswd that lets you know what it was encoded with.

I tried multiple different decoding algorithms including the one I think the file is hinting at with still no luck…

I have a good feeling that I’m overthinking this but I just can’t break my current thought process. I tend to overthink many of these boxes before I get the “wow I’m stupid” feeling.

@dontw8up I did the same. I ended up taking a break for the night and figured it out on my drive to work the next morning. I still need to figure out what my next step is.

enumerate the services and it is a key one of the services.

I’m stuck when connecting at the end, last step. I always get a blank screen and an X cursor, any help would be good. anyone ?

I need help with priv esc. A few days ago, I noticed a service running on some port as root. The service was using the unzipped file for authentication. Due to lack of time I could not complete the ctf at that time.

However, now when i am trying to enumerate the box, there is no such service running. I tried to reset the box few times and see if there is anything to do with this but nothing changed.

A bit of help would be appreciated.

Hi Guys. I am new here. Just rooted Jerry. Started with Poison. It almost killed me :).
Got user.txt. Downloaded secret.zip. Hope there is only one secret.zip.
Brute forcing the password. Please let me know if i am going in right direction.

Stuck at the last step, I see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it asks for another password before connecting? I have the secret though it dosent seem to have anything in it. Anyone mind helping?

Hello , I am a total newbie here literally got here 4 days ago and I owned jerry which was easy, so i got the special text file and did what it says with a common tool and i dont have any idea where to use it, any help please?
