Pen testing IoT devices from pcap files

Hi all, my first post here. I’m conducting a research project and this hinges on evidence conducted from analyzing pcap files of IoT devices looking how to elevate privileges on a device, access camera, doorbell etc, find weak passwords etc looking to prove a hypothesis that better knowledge of security for home users will increase protection of their devices. Please help I’ve got as far as loading a pcap file into wireshark in kali.
