New to HTB here. I created a team and I want to participate in a CTF event, but when I try to sign up, I need to give an input key. Where can I find that?
That key means the CTF is private. Most of the CTF events HTB runs throughout the year are. The main public one for anyone that I’m aware of is Cyber Apocalypse. There are is also a Business and University CTF targeting those demographics specifically.

The CTFs aren’t public just because the are visible. hence the input key. If they were public, no key would be required.

Public visible does not mean public to join.
that’s honestly so dumb… why would they make an official CTF private? how does anyone even get the code for that? clearly over 100 people got the code somehow

HTB is a business. They provide CTF development and hosting as a product to other entities. So they provide CTFs that are not public because they are paid for by a separate entity. CTFs cost money. Challenges and hosting resources don’t grow on trees.
