Stuck on PRTG Network Monitor within Attacking Common Applications

Hello everyone,

I’m currently stuck on the PRTG network monitor. I have been able to discover the username from the forgot password feature however the password remains elusive. The module solves this by trying several basic passwords which I repeated as well however none of them worked.

The strange thing here is that there is no one talking about this on the forums which makes me believe that I’m making a stupid mistake. Could you please give me a hint or nudge towards the right direction.

Thanks

Hi architvats96,

Have you tried the default and ‘known’ passwords for PRTG network monitor?

I’ve just done a quick google and can find them pretty easy, give that a try if not already.

Hi Sqwd,

Your hint was perfectly on point. I had tried it but was making an absolute noob of a mistake. The answer was clearly right in front of me as I was always expecting it to be.

Thank you for being an absolute legend.

Man im so confused because i have been trying this and i am still stuck.

Have you managed to create and execute a notification that creates a new admin user? I did it all and tested the notification but cant sign in with crackmap or anything else

You may find your answer on the right of the screen under Notifications tab. There is a column of small icons.

I have a question about getting a reverse shell.

To do this, I logged in as described and created a new notification with

  • Program File: “Demo exe notification -outfile.ps1”
  • Parameters: Revershell created with revshells com # PowerShell 2 (powershell -nop -c “…”).

Unfortunately my listener does not get a connection.
Thanks for your help!
