Rooted! I must say it was funny. I loved this box. When I got the root flag, I was like: really, did it work? So, an advice that I can give you for root is not to overthink, what you think that may work will probably work, trust yourself.

Check first if the machine has nc or not
I don’t get why this box is rated as medium. user to root didn’t require no real effort (having user creds), is that intended or did i miss the intended path?

Alright… I just got Magic rooted, to be honest i did not know that can be done… so many of you say it is easy… not to me to be honest… Thanks to all experts who have hinted and nudged me I have learned something new about linux…
