I’m a university IT student starting in HTB Academy; I have begun the Information Security Foundations modules and am a little uncertain about how much it is saying to download. I have downloaded Oracle VB and installed Parrot OS on it, now I apparently need to sign up to a paid VPS service and also download another VM with Windows on it requiring 60GB of disk space. I am not sure if I have the wrong end of the stick because in the FAQs in HTB Academy it says there are no necessary downloads, but I am not sure how I continue with the Windows stuff without all this.
My computer doesn’t have a huge hard drive so the Windows VM on top of everything else would be pushing it. I could skip the VM and use my computer directly because it is a Windows machine, but that could really mess up my computer.
Also being a student am a little worried about being told to take out more paid subscriptions.
Have I misunderstood? Is it necessary to proceed to download all this stuff? Or are parts of it optional?
